VÄLKOMMEN!
OUR PURPOSE
The purpose of our organization is to provide individuals researching their Swedish
ancestry the opportunity to meet and share ideas with others who have similar interests.
We are devoted to helping our members attain their goals through an agenda of
informative speakers, workshops and publications.

ABOUT SARA
The Swedish Ancestry Research Association (SARA) was founded in January 1994 to fill the need for an organization of this nature in the Northeast. We meet regularly between September and June. Meetings and workshops are held in Massachusetts and other locations throughout New England as well as virtually via Zoom. Meeting programs focus on a variety of topics such as family history research, Swedish culture and travel. We aim to have meetings that are informative and entertaining. Our newsletter is published monthly ten times per year. Our journal highlights a different province in Sweden in each issue. Other SARA projects include collecting and preserving various records of genealogical value such as church records and obituaries. Members may register in our database of names and places being researched by the membership. This information is available to help put people with the same research interests in contact with each other.
